The Foundation

SOMFY Foundation was created on 1ᵉʳ July 2004. When it was created, SOMFY Foundation's vocation was to facilitate access to a better understanding of our natural environment in order to help people live better in the world around them. It runs projects in France and abroad. 

Since then, the Foundation has gone through several key stages in its history, including focusing on the fight against poor housing in 2011 and broadening its scope of action in 2021 around 3 key areas: promoting access to healthy, sustainable housing, improving social integration and preserving the environment.

Today, SOMFY Foundation "Together for better living on the planet" embodies SOMFY Group's commitment to corporate social responsibility.

It provides financial support, as well as skills sponsorship, for projects that give everyone access to healthy, sustainable living spaces that respect people and the environment.

    SOMFY Foundation brings its support to general interest projects, led by non-profit organizations and charity foundations which strive for proper and adequate accommodations for people in need.

HISTORY

2004 - Creation of the SOMFY Corporate Foundation, with the creation of the "Esprit Montagne" program in which Group employees get involved to train young people in the mountains.

2009 - The Corporate Foundation changes its name to "Living better on the planet". Its mission remains to promote more sustainable housing.

2011 - The Foundation focuses its action on the fight against poor housing.

2012 - Creation of the employee commitment program.

2013 - SOMFY Foundation launches the Les Petites Pierres initiative and launches the 1ʳᵉ equity crowdfunding platform dedicated to associations and the fight against poor housing.

2014 - First international partnership with Habitat For Humanity, A House Is A Home.

2021 - After a period of stabilisation and development of commitment programmes, SOMFY Foundation takes on a new purpose: "Together for better living on the planet". 

2022 - First environmental action, with a commitment to reforestation of the Magland forest, in partnership with the ONF.

2023 - SOMFY Foundation completes its international solidarity offer with a new partner ACTED, and takes part for the 1st time at the WORLD CLEAN-UP DAY.
